Wellington Humanist Meetings
The Wellington Humanists group meets on the first Monday of the month, from 6.30pm at the Thistle Inn. Our meetings usually involve a talk given by an academic or other knowledgeable person on a topic of interest to humanists, atheists and skeptics. Occasionally we run workshops at our monthly meetings, where we work on select committee submissions or other important causes. Past topics for our talks have included evolution, taxation, assisted dying, and more.
If you would like to join us at one of our meetings, just turn up on the day (details on how to find us are below) – there’s no need to RSVP. You can order food and drinks at the bar, and bring them into the meeting with you.
If you’d have an idea of a topic you’d like us to cover, or you would like to speak to us or know someone else who would be a good fit for our meetings, please don’t hesitate to contact us at wellington@rationalists.nz.
Venue
We meet at the Thistle Inn, which is at 3 Mulgrave Street, Thorndon, in central Wellington. The Thistle Inn is very close to Wellington Train Station, and just across the road from the Bus Interchange.
Our meetings are held upstairs, in one of the two private rooms – usually the George’s Room, but occasionally the Katherine Mansfield Room.
