Chris Cavanagh was raised in a large Roman Catholic family and was schooled at a convent and subsequently by the Marist Brothers, where the training to question all truths led to his early atheism. He graduated as a Mechanical Engineer way back last century, and emigrated 23 years ago from South Africa because he fell in love with New Zealand, the ethos and character of the people, and the beauty of the land.

Working as an Auckland-based manufacturer, Chris is an ardent euthanasia and animal rights supporter. His disinterest in religious matters ended on Sept 11th 2001. He claims to bring few skills and experience, and no qualification nor authority, to the cause, but is simply one of the enthusiastic amateurs who support NZARH and seek to see its mission taken to the vast number of like-minded people out there.
