The positions up for election are:
- Sara Passmore (President) – completing her second term
- Tarsha McKean (Vice President) – Councillor, Auckland
- Judy de Leeuwe (Secretary) – Councillor, Auckland
- Mark Honeychurch – Councillor, Wellington
If you feel you would be a good fit for one of the roles up for reelection, we are currently accepting nominations for the following:
- President
- Vice President
- Two Councillor positions (Auckland)
If you would like to nominate yourself or another member (with their consent), please submit your nomination in writing no later than seven days before the AGM.
We encourage members with an interest in supporting the work of the NZARH to consider standing for election. Council service is a valuable way to contribute to the organisation and help guide its future direction.

Guest Speaker – Joe Carolan
Joe Carolan is a prominent peace activist, trade unionist, and spokesperson for the Stop Wars Coalition, a movement advocating for peace, social justice, and opposition to military intervention.
Joe has been at the forefront of efforts to build a broad-based anti-war movement in Aotearoa New Zealand, bringing together activists, workers, faith communities, and political organisations to challenge the human and social costs of war. He argues that military conflicts not only devastate communities overseas but also contribute to global displacement and refugee crises, while the economic and social impacts of these conflicts are often felt at home.
A passionate and engaging speaker, Joe is committed to fostering informed public discussion on peace, international relations, and social justice. His work focuses on building unity across diverse communities to advocate for a more peaceful and equitable world.
We are delighted to welcome Joe Carolan as our guest speaker at this year’s AGM.
