Congratulations Rana on your Permanent Residency in New Zealand

After six long years Humanist NZ is delighted to inform our humanist community that Rana Amjad Sattar and his family have at last received approval from Immigration NZ, of their Permanent Residency Application.

Rana was forced to leave Pakistan in 2018 as in December 2017 he was charged with blasphemy under the Pakistan Penal Code 295C. This charge has a mandatory death sentence, the asylum process is long and stressful. Rana’s family were able to join him earlier this year.

This final approval from Immigration NZ brings security to Rana and family. Remaining in Pakistan is dangerous for an apostate and family. His wider family are also at risk. These six years have been immensely stressful for Rana in NZ and his family remaining in Pakistan. We wish Rana and family the very best for a secure and safe residence in New Zealand. Rana appreciates the support of NZ Humanists and NZARH over the past 6 years.
